It's "public" knowledge now. Well, one of the schisms, at least. Read all about it. Always sad to relay this type of news :(

Blogosphere Schism
Sounds like there is a disharmony in the blogosphere of tacoma. Because it's a personal matter, it seems unfair to really get into the details. Just know that changes are a comin' in more than one place.
In happy news, it sounds like there is harmonious coming together in another area of the tacoma blogosphere.

"We'd Appreciate Your Input"
Word is that the winning poster for the Tacoma Film Festival had nothing to do with the input that was so greatly appreciated by those running the festival. Despite the audience choice of one Dawn Fortner, the prize ultimately went to the winner seen on the Grand's homepage. Of course, it did say appreciate the input and not viewer's choice will win. But, it still rings true to a time at my high school when an award like "best senior" was voted and nominated by the student body and somehow a girl ended up on stage who no one recalls voting for let alone nominating BUT she had really good connections and loads of money. Of course, in this instance, I'm sure the winning poster was at least nominated and voted for significantly...well I hope at least.
So, the question is, what about Fortner's poster wasn't liked by the director?
Or rather what about the winning poster propelled the director to disregard the appreciated viewer's input?
as always, take it with a grain of salt.

Hmm...
What local restaurateur, reportedly, knows how to handle big equipment in and out of the kitchen?

Cold as Ice...
While some fine dining establishments (i'm lovin' it) will give you a large soda for 60 cents less than a medium, others around Tacoma are just fine with increasing the volume without increasing the goods.
An insider reports this popular protein infused, healthy alternative blended drinks store is skimping on the actual "smoothie" part to their large smoothie. For just 50 cents more, you can get a larger size whose only difference is...more ice.
Maybe they are just doing the customer a favor. Less calories, longer lasting...

For Sale: Merlino Art Center
It's been on the market for awhile. While other organizations hold off on publishing prices: ethics, getting the facts straight, or maybe it's not "newsworthy". We, here at Tacoma Gossip, don't think any news is not worthy of print.
Merlino Art Center, you know the one were you can drop your daughter off at ballet class, run downstairs and enjoy a movie at the Grand or a delectable from Corina's Bakery, well it's up for sale. What, may you ask, is the asking price? A cool 4.65 million. Word is there might be a bit of construction and remodeling if you needed to change it.
I would jump on this worthy investment but I just spent my 5 million on buying a small island nation that I outsource all my work to.
As always, take it with a grain of salt!

Urban Tanning
Things are really cooking up over the Urban Tanning unexpected closing. It appears to be a mixed consensus over the owner and whose fault it really is for the closing. But, here's the story from a customer who purchased 2/3 of a $300 package:
when walking in to pay the last $100, she found the placed boarded up and called the number. What she was told was that everything had been smashed inside, including the computers, so as to lose all business records. The owner skipped town without paying all the employees. The package couldn't be honored, but she could get refunded for the portion that was put on a credit card...as for the $100 in cash, no luck. No Paperwork = No Refund. Any truth to this by other customers?
